Michael Sonberg

Michael Sonberg has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Michael started their career as a Department Manager at Tops Markets in 1991 and later worked as a Reorder Buyer at Hannaford Supermarkets from 1994 to 1997. Michael then joined The GIANT Company, where they held various positions, including Category Manager, Director of Meat and Seafood, and Vice President of Operations and Merchandising from 1997 to 2005.

In 2005, Sonberg became the President of Pryority Food Marketing, where they successfully led the sales agency business to strong organic growth and profitability over the course of eight years. Michael then joined Advantage Solutions as the President of Sales in 2013 after the company acquired Pryority. Sonberg focused on managing the transition to new ownership during their two-year tenure at Advantage.

Following their time at Advantage, Sonberg took a hiatus in 2015, dedicating their time to family, adventure bike riding, peak bagging NH mountains, and other activities. During this period, they also became a Charter Member of Edible Ventures Group, an angel group focused on investing in early-stage branded consumer packaged food and beverage companies.

In 2016, Sonberg joined C&S Wholesale Grocers as the Vice President of Fresh Procurement and Merchandising. Michael gained valuable experience and deepened their understanding of procurement, distribution, and leadership. After a year at C&S, Sonberg left the company with a great appreciation for its people and processes.

From 2017 to 2022, Sonberg served as the Executive Vice President and General Manager at Affinity Group, a North American Sales and Marketing Organization. Here, they held a position of leadership and contributed to the company's overall success.

Most recently, in 2022, Sonberg joined Ithaca Hummus as the Sales Director. Having previously worked with the company on the sales agency side, they are excited to now be part of the passionate and engaged team at Ithaca, which is known for its great tasting, innovative, and natural hummus products.

Michael Sonberg obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Phoenix from 1997 to 1999. Michael also attended the University at Buffalo, although specific details such as the duration and field of study are unavailable.
