Jose E Capilla

Jose E. Capilla serves as the Rector of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) since June 2021 and is a Professor of Applied Physics. They have held various academic and managerial positions, including Director General of Universities in the Generalitat Valenciana and Director of the Research Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering. As president of both the Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia and the Instituto Tecnológico de Informática, Jose is actively involved in research and modernization of higher education. Jose has authored over sixty scientific publications and has been recognized with several honors, including an honorary doctorate in Technology Management and Innovation from the Universidad Simón Bolívar in 2024.
