David Smith

David Smith is an accomplished television director with extensive experience in various roles across leading media organizations. Currently serving as OB Director for Channel 4 News at ITN since November 2022, and as Studio Director for a political satire quiz show at Hat Trick Productions since September 2022, David also holds the position of Series Director for BBC Debate Night at Mentorn Media since January 2019. Additional roles include directing news programmes at BBC News and serving as a studio director for STV Group plc. David's expertise encompasses directing high-profile events such as Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration and popular shows like Richard Osman’s House of Games. David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film & TV from Edinburgh College of Art and a Postgraduate Teaching Qualification from the University of Dundee.
