Carolin Durst began their education in 1999 at Sparkasse Lichtenfels, where they studied to become a Bankkauffrau. Carolin then attended FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg from 2001 to 2007, earning a Diplom-Kauffrau degree in Business Administration. In 2006, they had the opportunity to study abroad at Boğaziçi University as an Erasmus student. Continuing their education, Carolin pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Information Systems at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg from 2007 to 2011. Additionally, in 2003 to 2004, they participated in another Erasmus program at Università degli Studi di Parma.
