Michael Young

Michael Young has extensive work experience in the aerospace industry. Michael began their career as a Graduate Engineering Trainee at Rolls-Royce in 1986 and progressed through various roles within the company. Michael worked as a Design Engineer before becoming a Project Engineer, where they were responsible for the RB211 & Trent 700/800 Fleet. Later, they held positions as Engineering Technical Lead for the V2500 nacelle and the Trent XWB Installations. Michael then served as the Engineering Technical Lead for the Trent 7000 Installations and eventually became the Head of Design Assurance - Installations OU at ITP Aero in 2022. Throughout their career, Michael has gained experience in engineering design, integration, and certification of engine and aircraft systems.

Michael Young obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, where they studied from 1982 to 1986. Michael also holds additional certifications, including Non-Conformance Approver from Rolls-Royce, which they obtained in December 2021; EASA part 21 Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) from Rolls-Royce, obtained in December 2017; and Chartered Engineer from IMechE, obtained in 1993.
