Giri Prasad is an experienced engineering professional with a focus on embedded systems and firmware development. Currently serving as an R&D Manager at Itron, Inc. since February 2015, Giri is responsible for the design, development, and testing of firmware architectures for Smart Energy Meter units to create efficient metering solutions for electricity, water, and gas. Prior roles include Sr. Validation Engineer at Qualcomm, where Giri worked on ARM-based System-On-Chip validation, and Application Engineer at Microchip Technology, contributing to embedded application solutions for PIC microcontrollers. Giri began the career as a Summer Intern at Nokia, developing the 'Nokia Health Radar' application, and later worked as a Software Developer at Vecima Networks Inc. Giri holds an Executive General Management degree from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, a Master’s in Embedded System Design from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, and a Bachelor’s in Electronics & Communication from University B.D.T College of Engineering.
