Sean Thomas has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Sean started their career in 1993 as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the US Navy Construction Battalion. In 1997, they transitioned to MARTA, where they held various positions, including Electronic Technician - HVAC, Building Specialist, Building Superintendent - Headquarters Complex, Manager - Buildings & Support Equipment, Acting Director of Facilities, and currently serving as the Director of Facilities starting in August 2021. Sean'sexpertise lies in facility management and they have demonstrated consistent growth throughout their career.
Sean Thomas earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Technology Management from Clayton State University between 2005 and 2009. Sean also obtained an Associate's degree in Applied Technology - Commercial HVAC from Georgia Piedmont Technical College and a Certificate in Construction Management from Southern Polytechnic State University. In addition, Sean has obtained several certifications including Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM) from the Association for Facilities Engineering in 2015, Construction Safety & Health certification from the OSHA Safety Training Institute in 2012, and EPA Section 609 Certification and Section 608 Technician Certification (Universal) from the ESCO Institute in 1999.
