Marco Carbone has a strong career in academia, specializing in computer science. Marco started their journey as a PhD student at Aarhus University in 2001 and completed their doctoral degree in 2005. Following this, they worked as a research assistant at Queen Mary University of London from 2005 to 2006. Then, Carbone joined Imperial College London as a research associate from 2006 to 2007. In 2007, they became a research associate at Queen Mary, University of London until 2009. Carbone then transitioned to IT-Universitetet i København, where they held multiple positions throughout their tenure. Marco started as an assistant professor in 2009 and became the head of the SDT Study Program from 2014 to 2018. Currently, they serve as the head of the MSc in Computer Science and an associate professor at IT-Universitetet i København.
Marco Carbone completed their education with a Laurea (MSc) in Computer Science from Università di Pisa from 1995 to 2001. Marco then obtained their Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from BRICS, Aarhus University in 2005.
