Gareth Barr

Gareth Barr is an experienced C-suite advisor in broadcasting, media, and communications, currently serving as the Director of Policy & Regulation and Controller of Policy & Regulatory Strategy at ITV since June 2018. Barr also holds a director position on the Broadcast Committee of Advertising Practice, representing ITV in shaping the UK Code of Broadcast Advertising. Previous roles include Head of Public Service Policy at Ofcom, where significant contributions were made to content policy and public service, and Senior Strategy and Policy Adviser at the BBC, overseeing major strategic reviews and commercial activities. Barr began a career at Ernst & Young and holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Local Government Management from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Science in Politics and Economics from the University of Southampton.
