John Thomson is an experienced Consultant Emergency Physician currently serving at King's College Hospital London in Jeddah since July 2024. Concurrently, John holds the position of Medical Advisor for the iconic television series Coronation Street and works as an Expert Witness in Emergency Medicine with TMLEP. From June 2004 to July 2024, John was a pivotal member of NHS Grampian, managing emergency care across two acute hospitals and overseeing a high volume of patient attendances. John has also served in various leadership roles, including Divisional Clinical Director for Unscheduled Care and Clinical Director of Emergency Medicine. An Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen since 2009, John's contributions to the field also include serving as Vice President (Scotland) of The Royal College of Emergency Medicine.
