Éric Värnild

Éric Värnild is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in engineering and AI leadership across multiple organizations. Éric currently serves as the Director of Engineering and AI at IU Group since October 2025. Prior to this role, Éric was the Head of Engineering at Aleph Alpha, responsible for scaling an AI team and delivering a sovereign GenAI platform. Éric also held positions such as VP of Engineering and AI at paretos, and VP of Engineering at RapidMiner, where significant team expansions and product migrations occurred. Notably, Éric spent four years as ODM Senior Director at IBM, overseeing a large cross-functional team and leading the development of a cloud-based enterprise software solution. Éric's technical background includes proficiency in cloud technologies, microservices, and various programming languages, supported by a strong educational foundation in Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Ergonomics, and Human-Computer Interaction.
