Alec Moore

Alec Moore is a highly experienced researcher specializing in elasmobranchs of the Arabian region, currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Bangor University since June 2019. With a research career commencing in 2001, Alec has focused on the sustainable management and conservation of sharks, rays, and sawfishes, driven by the need for information on Gulf elasmobranchs. In addition, Alec holds the position of Regional Vice Chair for the IUCN Shark Specialist Group in the Indian Ocean, coordinating assessments and providing regional advice. Previous roles include Principal Marine Environmental Consultant and Senior Marine Environmental Consultant at RSK Group plc from February 2006 to June 2019. Alec's academic achievements include a PhD in Elasmobranchs from Bangor University, an MSc in Ecosystems Analysis and Governance from the University of Warwick, and a BSc (Hons) in Marine Sciences from the University of Southampton.
