Chetan Kumar

Chetan Kumar currently holds the position of Global Head of the Forest and Grasslands Team at IUCN, having joined the organization in October 2013. With a progressive career at IUCN, Chetan has also served as Acting Head, Senior Program Coordinator, and Manager of Landscape Restoration Science and Knowledge. Prior experience includes a role as Research Advisor on Climate Change and Environment at the Department for International Development, and a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge. Chetan's earlier positions include Program Officer at UNEP-WCMC, Project Coordinator at CIFOR, and Research Associate at The Energy and Resources Institute. Chetan's academic credentials include a Ph.D. and a Master's Degree in Geography from the University of Cambridge, a Master's Degree in Forest Management from the Indian Institute of Forest Management, and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Delhi University.
