John David

John (EBo) David is a seasoned Data Scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, supporting the sea ice science team and maintaining the GOES-R Level 2 products as part of a joint NASA/NOAA team. Additionally, John leads the Head In the Clouds project, utilizing machine learning to map significant vegetation across the Sub-Saharan Sahel and has prior experience in flood modeling and water budgets. Active in ecosystem restoration through membership with the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management and involvement in the IUCN-CEESP's Specialist Group for Indigenous Peoples, John contributes to both environmental and community-focused projects. As a long-term member of MakerTech Tuesday, John teaches various industrial skills and has previously held roles at companies such as IBM and Google. John holds a Master’s degree in Plant Biology from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from The University of New Mexico.
