Luc Bas

Luc Bas currently serves as the Director of the Belgium Climate Risk Assessment Center at CeRAC since October 2023 and holds a position as Chair of the Strategic Advisory Council at the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP) since June 2024, providing voluntary advisory support. As Vice Chair for Europe of the IUCN Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social Policy, Luc Bas collaborates to enhance the integration of socio-economic and environmental policies in Europe, also participating voluntarily in various advisory roles, including a board member at the Climate Group and IUCN NL. Previous experience includes serving as External Relations Advisor at the European Environment Agency and leadership roles in IUCN and The Climate Group, focusing on sustainable development and government relations. Luc Bas holds multiple degrees in engineering and environmental science from reputable institutions, including the University of Antwerp and KU Leuven.
