Nick Conner is a seasoned economist specializing in environmental economics with extensive experience in both government and international organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Principal Economist at the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water since August 2018, Nick has contributed significantly to various roles within the IUCN Commission on Environmental, Economic & Social Policy and the Commission on Ecosystem Management since 2000. As Theme Chair and Specialist Group Lead, Nick focuses on the economic aspects of local communities and nature, while also advising on multiple international environmental projects. Prior roles include Principal Conservation Economist at the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage from 1997 to 2018. Academically, Nick holds a Master's Degree in Agricultural Economics from the University College of Wales and a Bachelor's Degree in Rural Environment Studies from Wye College, University of London.
