Simon Addison is a dedicated researcher and practitioner focused on addressing climate and biodiversity crises in low-income countries. With over 20 years of experience in sustainable development and environmental management, they have worked extensively with marginalized communities in the Greater Horn of Africa, engaging in various roles at major NGOs and academic institutions. Simon holds Masters degrees in Geography and International Development from the Universities of Oxford and Melbourne and is currently a doctoral candidate at York University, researching the political ecology of private sector investment in Nature Based Solutions to the climate crisis. Their past roles have included positions at IUCN, Oxfam, and the University of Manchester, among others, showcasing a broad expertise in climate justice, governance, and resilient livelihoods development.
