Steve Crooks is a distinguished expert in wetland science and coastal management, currently serving as Co-Founder and Principal at Silvestrum Climate Associates, LLC since August 2016. In addition to this role, Steve holds the position of Research Associate at the Smithsonian Institution and is involved as a VCS: AFOLU expert in wetland restoration and conservation. Active on the Steering Committee of the IUCN Species Survival Commission's Mangrove Specialist Group, Steve has extensive experience as a Science Team Member for the NASA Carbon Monitoring System and has previously directed climate change services at ESA PWA. With over two decades of experience in climate change adaptation and ecological research, Steve earned a Ph.D. in Sedimentology from the University of Reading, complemented by relevant degrees in sedimentology and oceanography.
