Terry Grant has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of network engineering and IT. Terry began their career in 1989, serving in the US Army for twenty years as a Network Management Technician and Signal Warrant Officer. During their time in the Army, Terry was responsible for planning, managing, and operating enterprise-level communications networks, including maintaining networks during operational deployments and training exercises.
After leaving the Army, Terry worked as a Field Support Engineer and Instructor for US Army CECOM IT-FSB, providing network troubleshooting support and training to customers. Terry then served as the Site Lead and IT Instructor for Courage University, managing the facility and revising training plans and course material.
Terry then transitioned into roles in the public sector, starting as a Network Engineer for the Washington State Department of Corrections. In this role, they provided expert-level knowledge of network engineering and support for the department's intranet and extranet networks.
Terry then moved on to the Washington State Department of Revenue, where they worked as the Senior Network Engineer and Architect. Terry played a crucial role in designing, architecting, and engineering enterprise networks and perimeter defenses, including leading key projects such as the Cisco ACI data center build.
In 2016, Terry joined Widenet Consulting at Wizards of the Coast as a Senior Network Engineer, where they provided network architecture and design consulting for large-scale data center network infrastructure, including creating technical design documents and implementing improvements in technology and services.
