Sam Patel

Sam Patel is a seasoned professional in internal audit and financial services, currently serving as Partner at BDO UK LLP since September 2020. With extensive experience in managing internal audits for FTSE and similar-sized insurers, Sam has held leadership roles including Head of Internal Audit and Director of Governance, overseeing internal audit, risk, compliance, and legal functions. Previously, Sam was a Partner at Mazars LLP with similar responsibilities, as well as Group Reporting Manager at Friends Life Group, where financial reporting was managed for various business units. Sam began a career in auditing as a Senior Manager at Deloitte LLP, focusing on general and life insurance accounting, and worked with major global clients. Sam holds a BSc in Management (Hons) from UMIST, Manchester School of Management.
