Heather Stokes

Associate Curriculum Designer at IXL Learning

Heather Stokes has a diverse work experience. Heather is currently working as an Associate Curriculum Designer at IXL Learning since June 2023. Previously, from July 2019 to May 2023, they worked as a High School Math Teacher at Charles R Drew Charter School. Before that, from February 2017 to June 2019, they served as a Corps Member for Teach For America, teaching high school mathematics at Zebulon B. Vance High School. Heather also gained experience as a Biochemistry Teaching Assistant at North Carolina State University from January 2017 to May 2017. Prior to that, from August 2015 to January 2017, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, focusing on sensorimotor control and studying the association between kinematic variability and muscle activity. Additionally, they have completed internships, including one as a Validation Engineering Intern at Barry-Wehmiller Design Group from May 2015 to August 2015, where they supported the quality and validation team and implemented the System Development Life Cycle. Heather also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Biomedical Engineering at North Carolina State University from January 2015 to May 2015, where they assisted in gait training to improve spinal cord injuries and managed data collection procedures.
