Jianyu Wang began their work experience in 2016 as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, where they worked until 2020. In 2020, they also started working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the same university, a position they held until 2023. In 2020, they joined Tencent America as a Media on Cloud Engineer, where they implemented a prototype of Network-based Media Processing (NBMP) standard. In 2021, they continued their role at Tencent America as a Media on Cloud Engineer and built a parallel H.265 video transcoding workflow with FFmpeg media processing library. Currently, since 2023, Jianyu Wang works as a Software Engineer at IXL Learning.
Jianyu Wang began their education journey in 2010 at Chongqing University of Post and Telecommunications, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Communication Engineering in 2014. They then pursued further studies at Rutgers University from 2014 to 2016, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Currently, Jianyu Wang is enrolled in the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science. They are currently ABD (All But Dissertation) in their Ph.D. program.
In addition to their formal education, Jianyu Wang has obtained several certifications from Udemy. In May 2023, they completed the "Master Spring Boot 3 & Spring Framework 6 with Java" course. Prior to that, in March 2023, they completed the "Developing a Full-Stack App: Spring Boot + JWT + Angular 14" course. In February 2023, they obtained a certification in "Java Web Development / Jakarta EE8 (Servlet, JSP, JDBC, MVC)."
