Julia Rende

Curriculum Designer, English Language Arts at IXL Learning

Julia Rende has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Julia started their career as an Associate Instructor at Indiana University Bloomington, where they taught Rhetoric and Composition from September 2012 to May 2015. After that, they worked as a Teacher at C2 Education from June 2015 to February 2017.

Julia then joined The College Board, where they held multiple roles. Julia started as an Assessment Specialist from February 2017 to January 2019. Following that, they served as a Senior Assessment Specialist for the Writing and Language department from January 2019 to October 2019. Lastly, they were appointed as the Director of Writing and Language, responsible for Assessment Design and Development from October 2019 to December 2021.

After their tenure at The College Board, Julia worked at Pearson as the Manager of English Language Arts Asset Creation from January 2022 to February 2023. Currently, they are employed at IXL Learning as a Curriculum Designer for English Language Arts. Julia'sstart date at IXL Learning is in June 2023, and their current role is ongoing.

Julia Rende's education history begins in 2006 when they attended Wheaton College Massachusetts, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. Julia graduated summa cum laude in 2010. Following their undergraduate studies, Julia pursued further education at Indiana University Bloomington. From 2011 to 2013, they completed a Master of Arts degree in English Literature. After that, Julia continued their academic journey at the same university, focusing on English Literature (British and Commonwealth) for their PhD coursework, which they completed from 2013 to 2015. In addition to their formal education, Julia Rende also obtained a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business in May 2021.
