Katie Baxter

Senior Manager, Membership Services at IXL Learning

Katie Baxter has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Katie started their career in 1996 as a Swim Team Coach and Lifeguard for the Pirates' Cove Home Owners Association. In 2000, they worked as an At-Risk Tutor at the Watauga County Public School System, where they prepared students for standardized tests and provided mentorship to at-risk students.

In 2001, Katie became an Elementary School Teacher at the Wake County Public School System, teaching a 3rd grade classroom and specialty electives. Katie developed differentiated lesson plans, fostered strong relationships with students and parents, and collaborated with staff.

From 2003 to 2005, they worked as a Sports Travel Consultant at WorldTEK Event and Travel Management. Their responsibilities included organizing group hotel reservations for youth soccer teams, restructuring the group booking process, and providing exceptional customer service to thousands of customers.

Katie then co-founded Partners In Team Travel, LLC in 2005 and served as the Chief Operations Officer & Co-Owner until 2015. In this role, they forged partnerships with tournament directors, negotiated contracts with hotels, and ensured the successful experience of traveling youth sport teams attending events across the country.

In 2015, Katie joined IXL Learning as an Account Manager & Team Lead. Katie managed school and district-wide accounts, facilitated on-boarding and product implementation, and delivered customized experiences to meet the goals and priorities of schools and administration. Katie later transitioned to various managerial positions within IXL Learning, including Manager, Family Memberships and Manager, Membership Services. In these roles, they oversaw customer support for family memberships, recruited and coached customer service professionals, and analyzed key performance indicators to enhance customer satisfaction and team efficiency.

Katie Baxter attended Cary High School from 1993 to 1997. After completing high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Appalachian State University, where they studied from 1997 to 2001.
