Richard S.

Richard S. has a diverse background in technology-related roles. Richard is currently working as a Software Engineer at IXL Learning since 2023. Prior to this, they worked on independent, professional, and educational projects starting from 2020. In this role, they designed and implemented a parallel neuroscience data processing pipeline, reducing the running time significantly. Richard also worked on a distributed terasort project stack migration, designing and deploying a new Chapel codebase.

Richard also has experience working at Georgia Institute of Technology as an Instructional Associate and a Teaching Assistant, where they expanded student exposure to new technologies by incorporating Chapel into the final programming project for a high-performance computing course.

Before their current position, Richard served as a Technical Program Manager and Technical Analyst at Philips from 2018 to 2022. Richard also worked at Epic from 2015 to 2018 in the role of Technical Services. Prior to that, they gained experience as an Account Executive at Yellow Box Studios, Ltd. from 2011 to 2015.

Richard S. completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Richard attended the university from 2011 to 2015. Prior to their undergraduate studies, Richard attended Rolla High School from 2007 to 2011. Recently, they pursued further education at the Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in Computer Science, and earned a Master of Science (MS) degree from 2020 to 2022.
