Mike Nikitenko has had a diverse range of work experience throughout their career. Mike started their career at INTELLIGENT DOCUMENT PROCESSING, Inc. in 1997 as a System Analyst/Programmer-analyst, where they designed databases and software architectures for image archiving/retrieval systems. Mike then moved on to MD Online in 2001, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer and designed the architecture for medical image matching software systems. In 2003, they joined VistaPortal Software as a Senior Software Engineer, where they researched and developed modules for integration with the Jetspeed portal capabilities. Mike then worked at Nokia as a Senior Software Engineer from 2004 to 2010, where they developed the architecture and strategy for adopting OSS products into Nokia's proprietary OS and environment. Following that, they worked at Sonos, Inc. as a Software Engineer from 2010 to 2012, and contributed to the development of the company's internal library for music devices. Mike then joined Bose Corporation in 2012 as a Senior Software Engineer, where they ported existing software components to work in an RTOS environment and designed new components to support proprietary protocols. Most recently, they have been working at iZotope, Inc. since 2014 as a Senior Software Engineer.

Mike Nikitenko attended the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Technical University) from 1989 to 1995. During this time, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and Applied Math.
