Tim Powell

Tim Powell is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public health, data governance, and informatics. Currently serving as a Senior Consultant at J Michael Consulting since August 2022, Tim has also been the Owner and Head Brewer at WayGone Brewery, LLC since May 2016. Previous roles include Director of the Center for Public Health Informatics and Division of Informatics at the Virginia Department of Health, where Tim led initiatives for Virginia’s Electronic Disease Surveillance System. Tim's diverse background encompasses positions as Senior Health Informatics Scientist at UNOS, Senior Healthcare Data Analyst at Verisk Health, and various epidemiological roles at the Virginia Department of Health, demonstrating a robust expertise in surveillance, data analytics, and emergency preparedness. Tim holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and several certificates in Public Health Informatics and Leadership.
