Putul Gupta

Putul Gupta is the Associate Director - Research at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), where they co-lead the development of knowledge products and ensure research integrity across various randomized evaluations. Previously, Putul served in roles such as Senior Research Manager and Research Manager at J-PAL South Asia, where they managed evaluations in education, health, and governance, while also mentoring internal teams. They began their career as a Research Assistant at HKUST, contributing to the GyanShala Project, and during their studies, worked in various roles at the University of Oxford. Putul holds a Master of Science in Sociology from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Arts in English from St. Stephen's College.
