Sarah Pound

Sarah Pound has served as the Assistant Director of Process Chemistry at J-STAR Research, Inc. since February 2019, previously holding positions as Senior Research Chemist and Process Chemist. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Delaware from August 2016 to January 2019, where Sarah led a project team focused on the mechanisms of stereospecific, nickel-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. Sarah also contributed to the development of general reaction conditions for producing enantioenriched products. Earlier, as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota from September 2011 to July 2016, Sarah led a total synthesis project for the alkaloid drimentine C and was involved in developing a novel reaction for constructing carbocycles. Additionally, Sarah served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for multiple organic chemistry courses during this period. Sarah holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota and a BS in Chemistry with a double major in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from Bethel University.
