Tye Murphy

Tye Murphy is an accomplished Emmy Award-winning writer, producer, editor, and aerial cinematographer with nearly 30 years of experience in the media industry. Currently serving as a writer/producer/editor at SmashPop Creative and an aerial cinematographer at AeroVista Films since 2024, Tye has garnered 20 Emmy nominations and 7 wins throughout a distinguished career. As the owner of SmashPop Creative, a content creation agency established in 2016, Tye leads a collaborative team dedicated to storytelling and innovative video production. Previous roles include Creative Services Director at KCTV/KSMO/Meredith Corporation and Promotion Manager at WDAF-TV FOX 4. Tye holds a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism and History from The University of Kansas and is a graduate of Gardner-Edgerton High School.
