Patsy Nishina

Patsy Nishina is a faculty member at the University of Maine Graduate School and a professor at Tufts University School of Medicine. With a Ph.D. and M.S. in Physiological Biochemistry from the University of California, Davis, and a background in Nutrition and Education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Patsy has extensive experience in investigating genetic factors influencing retinal development and disease. Past roles include research scientist and assistant professor at The Jackson Laboratory, where significant contributions were made to understanding the molecular basis of eye diseases. Patsy's current research employs a blend of advanced techniques to explore gene function and disease mechanisms, aiming to elucidate pathways impacted by genetic mutations.
