David Hurwitz

David Hurwitz is a Senior Software Engineer at BlackLynx since July 2021, bringing extensive experience from previous roles, including Staff Scientist at the National Center for Biotechnology Information from January 2000 to July 2021, where David contributed to the development of CDTree, a software tool for protein domain visualization. Prior to this, David was a Researcher at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where an all-atom free-energy force field was developed, along with software for molecular dynamics simulations. David's early career included positions as a Software Engineer at Nova Biomedical, focusing on user-interface development for a blood CO-oximeter, and as a Senior Design Engineer at Orbotech, where image processing algorithms were created for defect detection on printed circuit boards. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Brown University, a Master's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and a Master of Science in Chemistry from the Weizmann Institute of Science.
