Sam Young

Senior Biologist

Sam Young is a Senior Biologist and Project Manager currently working at Jacobs since 2024. With a Master of Environmental Science and Management focused on Conservation Planning from Bren School at UC Santa Barbara, Sam has previously held positions such as Important Plant Areas Program Manager at California Native Plant Society and Assistant Project Manager at Swaim Biological Inc. Sam's early career included roles at Earthmind and as a teaching assistant at UC Santa Barbara, where they contributed to biodiversity mapping and instructed students in laboratory techniques. Passionate about conservation in urban environments, Sam aims to integrate conservation ideals into urban planning to protect natural resources and ecosystem services.
