The Jacox Lab is a human translational and clinical research laboratory. The lab explores a diverse range of research areas including the effects of jaw surgery on speech-sound disorders, the effectiveness of Animal Assisted Therapy as a means to reduce pediatric dental anxiety, the efficacy of bone anchored maxillary protraction plates to influence craniofacial development in growing Class III patients, and the use of antiviral oral rinses as a method to inactivate SARS-CoV-2 virus in the saliva of known COVID+ subjects. We are located at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the Adams School of Dentistry.
