Deb Carpenter is a highly experienced professional in childhood safety education and injury prevention. Currently serving as a Subject Matter Expert at JAG Global Learning since January 2022, Deb focuses on developing a school bus safety toolkit for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Prior experience includes a role as a Child Passenger Safety/Car Seat Trainer at the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning, where training programs were conducted for caregivers before operations were suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19. Deb's extensive tenure at Bronson Children's Hospital, from 1993 to 2019, included positions as Childhood Injury Prevention & Wellness Coordinator and Executive Director of Safe Kids Kalamazoo County, where collaboration with key organizations ensured effective injury prevention strategies. Earlier work as Regional Safe Kids Coordinator for the Michigan Department of Health & Community Services involved leadership in local injury prevention coalitions. Deb holds a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University.
