Jalo uses wood waste and achieves carbon negativity by using agricultural landscape waste—such as prunings, straw, and other residues from local farmers—as feedstock for producing biopellets. Instead of burning or leaving this waste to decompose the project transforms it into a clean, renewable fuel source. Additionally, the factory invests heavily in agroforestry, planting diverse trees and shrubs that sequester carbon over time but more importantly help farmers become more profitable , creating a long-term supply chain in Overijssel
