With roots tracing back to 1916, James Wilby has evolved from a local coal and haulage operation into a trusted name in UK transport. In 1977, the company entered a new phase of growth — combining strong family values with professional ambition and integrity.

Following a management buyout, we now enter a new era for our business — one grounded in trust, driven by our people, and guided by the needs of our customers.

We believe in delivering excellence with integrity, fostering a culture where every team member thrives, and creating a lasting legacy that honours our past while shaping the next chapter.

As part of our growth, we are launching an in-house training school and recruitment division to develop skilled talent, support local employment, and future-proof our workforce.

This evolution is more than a change in ownership — it’s the future.

Together, we will grow stronger, serve better, and build a business ready to last another 100 years.
