Dan Schwartz

Dan Schwartz has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Dan currently works at Jane Technologies, Inc. as a Lead Software Engineer, a position they have held since October 2022. Prior to this, they were a Senior Fullstack Engineer at the same company from September 2021 to October 2022.

Before joining Jane Technologies, Inc., Dan worked at Substantial as a Software Developer from November 2016 to September 2021. During this time, they gained valuable experience in software development.

Dan also has experience in the education sector. Dan worked at Code Fellows as an Assistant Instructor from May 2016 to November 2016 and as a Teaching Assistant from January 2016 to May 2016. In these roles, they provided support to students learning programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

Additionally, Dan has freelanced as a Web Developer, building responsive web applications for clients. Dan was self-employed in this role from January 2016 to November 2016.

In the past, Dan worked as a Maintenance Program Manager at Stone Soup Gardens from May 2014 to November 2015, where they were responsible for managing maintenance programs. Dan also worked as a Biosolids Project Manager at King County from February 2013 to February 2014, where they led the overhaul of the program website and conducted scientific research on biosolids management.

Dan's work experience also includes a research position at the University of Washington as a Research Assistant from June 2011 to March 2012. Dan conducted greenhouse studies on infiltration and water quality for use in bioswales.

Furthermore, Dan worked as a Field Specialist at Restoration Logistics from June 2010 to September 2010, where they carried out environmental restoration projects and served as a backup crew lead.

In 2009, Dan worked as a Campaign Manager for O'Brien for Seattle, where they performed administrative duties and assisted in the development of issue platforms and messaging for the campaign.

Lastly, Dan's earlier experience includes working as a Field Crew Lead at Earth Corps from May 2008 to December 2008, where they supervised a crew and coordinated project logistics for environmental restoration projects.

Dan Schwartz attended Code Fellows in 2015, where they studied web development. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Environmental Horticulture degree from the University of Washington, specializing in urban ecology, environmental restoration, and green infrastructure from 2009 to 2011. Before their master's, they graduated from Macalester College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. In 2014, they also obtained a certification as a Certified Envision Sustainability Professional from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure.
