Ben Lowder has worked in the software engineering industry for over 20 years. Ben started their career at Novell in 1999 as a Software Engineer, where they designed and developed testing suites for the Novell Software Certification Kit, created and executed test plans, and provided testing support for Novell LAN, WAN, Storage, Software, and Backup test kits. After that, they worked at Sandlot as a Software Developer, where they maintained and provided enhancements to existing software, designed and developed utility applications to support existing software, and assisted in technical requirements, design meetings and development of new software. Ben then moved on to Accountix, Inc. as a Delphi Programmer, where they assisted in design meetings, developed SQL Stored Procedures to support new applications and reporting needs, and developed new software via Borland Delphi and Dev Express components. In 2003, Ben joined Ancestry.com as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented a new credit card account updater solution in AWS using Lambda, SQS, CloudWatch, and S3 to proactively and reactively update customer credit card information prior to their subscription renewal date, integrated credit card account updater solution with Cybersource and provided feedback that influenced the redesign of their account updater process, and assisted in the lift and shift migration to Amazon Webservices. Most recently, Ben has been a Principal Software Engineer at Jane.com since 2018, where they improved marketing abilities by integrating with Segment, Iterable, and Yotpo, prevented legal issues with various states by implementing a new sales tax calculation and reporting system integrated with TaxJar prior to legal deadlines, and integrated with Dwolla to support payments to third party vendors.

Ben Lowder obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Utah Valley University between 1997 and 2002. Ben also holds an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification obtained in November 2018 from http://aws.amazon.com/verification.
