Ivan Maeder

Ivan Maeder has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries.

Starting in 2002, they worked in customer service at Foxtel for a year before moving on to a software engineering role at PRISA in 2003.

In 2004, Ivan joined Capgemini as a Lead Software Engineer, where they worked for eight years.

In 2012, they co-founded Codekai and served as a Co-Founder until 2014. During this time, they also worked as an Instructor/Organizer at Coderswitch for a few months.

From 2014 to 2016, Ivan joined Technology Will Save Us as a Founding Engineer/Team Lead. Ivan was responsible for leading the software team, establishing coding standards, and building various educational tools and materials.

In their next role at Technology Will Save Us from 2017 to 2018, Ivan became a Delivery Manager. Ivan led complex projects involving multiple disciplines, introduced agile and lean principles to the company, and oversaw the development of new physical products, website redesign, and packaging projects.

Continuing their career, Ivan founded Glis in 2018 and served as a Founder until 2019.

From 2019 to 2022, they joined Archangel Imaging as a Lead Software Engineer. Ivan developed a real-time dashboard, automated deployments and testing, and led multiple-team feature developments and initiatives.

Most recently, Ivan became a Recurser at Recurse Center in 2022 and is currently a Senior Software Engineer at January, starting in April 2023.

Ivan Maeder completed their Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at The University of Queensland from 1997 to 2000. Following this, they pursued a Master of Information Technology (Computer Science) from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) between 2000 and 2002.
