Associate Principal, Registered Architect Architecture at Jasmax

Alistair is a Senior Architect on Jasmax’s Commercial team, with nearly 40 years’ experience working in the construction industry.

Having worked as both a contractor and architect, Alistair has extensive knowledge of all facets of the industry, including briefing, design, and delivery. He has worked across various project typologies, including bespoke residential, institutional, commercial, retail, civic, conservation, and large-scale master-planning developments.

Since joining Jasmax, Alistair has been involved in the design of several hotel and retail developments, including the refurbishment and extension of the Cordis Hotel in Auckland – soon-to-be the largest hotel in New Zealand. Prior to joining the practice, Alistair held lead roles in several large-scale institutional projects, including the University of Auckland’s Science Centre and the Hine-Pāka Bus Interchange in Christchurch – one of the ‘anchor projects’ identified in the city’s Recovery Plan following the 2011 earthquake.

Alistair has spent approximately 15 years abroad, having worked on high-profile transport and master-planning projects in London and conservation projects in Italy. He values teamwork and collaboration across all phases of a project and is a passionate advocate for the environment and conservation.
