Jonathan Ash

Project Director at Jasmax

Jonathan is a Project Director with specialist expertise in mass rapid transit projects, having spent majority of his career focused on passenger rail systems. He also has extensive experience in the design and delivery of international light rail transit, depots and high-speed rail projects in Singapore, Malaysia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Australia.

Having designed more than 50 rail stations, Jonathan has a deep understanding of the planning, design and delivery required for complex rail projects, and how they integrate into urban environments, as well as high-level technical details.

Prior to joining Jasmax in 2020, Jonathan was a Principal at Aedas, working on the rail team and as Design Leader for bid designs across city metro projects in Melbourne, then Brisbane. He is currently working on Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s City Rail Link.

Jonathan's technical and delivery knowledge is balanced with his pragmatic sensitivity to public realm, aesthetic and MRT specific, sustainability of transit facility architectural design. His personal design philosophy embodies a strong belief that good design is the product of combining elegant and optimal solutions for all technical aspects of the design.
