Jasper is an open-source IDE for chemical process design.
Jasper helps students, researchers, and early-stage engineers explore process flowsheets, constraints, and techno-economic tradeoffs before jumping into heavyweight industrial simulators. Instead of outdated trial-and-error workflows, it emphasizes clarity, iteration, and intuition—making process design more accessible and explainable in academic and research settings.
The platform combines an interactive PFD editor, constraint-based simulation, and integrated economic analysis to support conceptual design, feasibility studies, and learning. Jasper is developed in close feedback loops with professors and researchers and is designed to be transparent, extensible, and human-in-the-loop.
Our long-term goal is to improve how engineers learn and reason about process design by building open, trustworthy infrastructure that starts in academia and grows outward.
