Ian May

Ian May has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Ian started their career as a Senior Software Engineer at Xansa (now Sopra Steria) in 2001, where they played a crucial role in developing the company's intranet and digital communication tools. Ian then moved on to Magic Lantern Productions in 2006, where they worked as a Producer before transitioning to Jaywing as a Senior Producer in 2007.

In 2011, Ian joined Creative Jar as a Programme Manager and later became a Programme Director, leading a team of four Digital Project Managers. During their time at Creative Jar, they managed a constantly evolving portfolio of around 95 concurrent projects worth approximately £1 million. Ian was also responsible for project governance and the development of production processes.

Ian continued their career at Ridgeway Digital in 2017 as a Digital Project Manager, overseeing the delivery of new websites for the YO! restaurant chain and managing an existing content-rich eCommerce website. Ian joined That Ian May in 2016 as a Director before transitioning to Juice Moving Images Ltd in 2018 as a Senior Digital Project Manager, focusing on delivering technical, design-focused, and eLearning projects. Ian also played a role in process improvement and the transition to Agile methodologies.

Ian returned to Jaywing in 2019, this time as a Programme Director, responsible for digital delivery. In 2022, they took on the role of Digital Delivery Director at the same company.

Ian May attended Ilkley Grammar from 1990 to 1995. Ian then proceeded to the University of Nottingham where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from 1995 to 1998.
