Salman Malik

Salman Malik has a diverse range of work experience. From 2000 to 2004, they worked as a Senior Assistant Director/Assistant Director at the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS). From 2004 to 2007, they held the position of Senior Project Manager (Business) at the Ministry of IT & Telecom, where they were responsible for analyzing telecom services business and proposing policy changes. Salman then moved on to become the Director of the De-Regulation Facilitation Unit at the same ministry from 2007 to 2008. From 2008 to 2013, they worked at Telenor in various roles, including Inter-Carrier Strategy Manager and Director. During this time, they played a key role in strategic projects such as infrastructure sharing and the launch of the Mobile Commerce initiative. From 2013 to 2016, they served as the CEO of Telenor LDI Communications, a subsidiary of Telenor Pakistan, where they managed international dialing services and contributed to revenue growth. More recently, they held leadership positions at Jazz (previously known as Mobilink), starting as the Vice President of Public Policy & Regulatory Affairs from 2017 to 2019 and then transitioning to the role of Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem in 2019.

Salman Malik's education history includes a Strategy Execution Program at INSEAD in 2016. Salman also holds a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute in 2008, as well as a PMP Certification from Training by CIIT in the same year. In 2005, they completed a Masters - short class in Regulatory at the University of Bath. Salman pursued an MSC in Development Finance at the University of Reading from 2002 to 2003. Prior to that, they obtained a Masters in Business Administration from Hamdard University between 1998 and 2000. Finally, they completed their Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) from 1995 to 1998.

Salman also completed the Strategy Execution Program at INSEAD through INSEAD Executive Education, though specific dates or years of obtaining the certification are not available.
