Eric Matas has a diverse work experience in various industries and roles. Eric has worked as a Chief Operations Officer at JazzJune starting from April 2020. Prior to that, Eric worked at Mortimer James Media, LLC as a Principal Product & Learning Consultant from August 2011 to July 2022. At Mortimer James Media, they specialized in creating digital learning products and media, including the Shoehorn LMS learning management system.
Eric also has experience at Self Esteem Brands, LLC, where they served as a Senior Product Manager, Learning Systems from April 2014 to December 2017. During this time, they successfully implemented learning software for franchise brands such as Anytime Fitness and Waxing the City, launching the Anytime Academy and Waxing the City Academy.
Eric co-founded FlashlightKB, LLC and served as the Head of Product Development from October 2015 to May 2017. Additionally, Eric worked as the Managing Editor at eLearning Weekly Magazine from August 2010 to August 2014.
Prior to that, Eric gained experience at American Medical Systems as a Curriculum Education & Training Specialist from July 2010 to April 2014, designing and developing e-learning for international physicians, sales reps, and training specialists.
Earlier in their career, Eric worked as a Writing Instructor at ITT Technical Institute from March 2008 to May 2011, teaching courses focused on critical thinking and writing skills. Eric also served as an Instructional Designer at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, focusing on designing and building e-learning courses for call center and customer service.
Before that, Eric worked at BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota as an Instructional Designer/Developer from January 2007 to October 2008, where they designed and wrote training material and curriculum, specializing in service, sales, and business writing.
Finally, Eric also has entrepreneurial experience as the owner of Right Price Painting Company from May 2004 to May 2008, where they successfully ran the business during their summers off from teaching.
Eric Matas earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of St. Thomas in 1993. Eric later pursued their Master of Arts degree in English from the same university, completing it in 1998.
