John Hoerr

John Hoerr started their career as an Embedded Software Engineer at MicroDesigns, Inc. in 2001. John then worked as a Validation Engineer at Intel from 2005 to 2007. From 2007 to 2011, they were a Software Developer at CrossCurrent, Inc. and then joined Indiana University, where they held various roles. At Indiana University, they served as a Senior Software Engineer, leading the migration of IUware to MS Azure and converting it into a revenue-generating subscription service. John also worked as a Principal Software Engineer, architecting and developing projects such as Kumo and Status. IU. In 2021, John joined JBS Custom Software Solutions as a Principal Software Engineer, where they have been involved in projects such as modernizing administrative and point-of-sale applications for a Fortune 500 used car retailer and developing a cloud-native veterinary practice management system for a Fortune 500 pet services company.

John Hoerr earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology between the years 1999 and 2004.
