Vision
Complete de-stigmatization of mental health challenges both by patients themselves and society as a whole.

A place where people with mental health challenges find peer support through shared information and knowledge, and have a dedicated platform where their trials and tribulations, as well as their successes can, not only be heard, addressed and celebrated, but will lead to individual solutions, as well as community wide acceptance. To affect real, concrete change in the way patients look at themselves and their challenges, as well as the society in which they live.

Mission
To the Jeffry Stijn Foundation (JSF), the patient as a whole is central; they are first and foremost people as all others, and though mental wellness challenges may be a large and overwhelming aspect of their lives, they deserve the respect afforded to any human being, both towards themselves, and by their community.

The JSF’s mission is to support mental wellness patients in communities with limited access to mental health care, in their journey toward recovery, acceptance and an improved life, by providing information, guides to resources, a community of peers, and where possible, advocate for those who find themselves without a voice or recourse to improving their mental health.

Objectives
To inform patients and interested parties about possibilities, options and rights of mental health care patients in Aruba.

To destigmatize mental health in Aruba and other small communities and battle cultural stigmas by open and frank exchanges of knowledge, personal experience and practical tips.

To provide a platform for mental health patients where their needs and desires in the field of mental health care in Aruba, and within Aruban society, can be inventoried and shared.

To advocate for the wellbeing and rights of mental health care patients, both as a group, and as individuals.
