James Gao

James Gao is a highly experienced data science professional currently serving as the Lead Data Scientist at Jerry since January 2023, where significant contributions include optimizing the customer acquisition funnel and developing risk-based segmentation models. Previously, James worked at Square as a Data Science Lead and Data Scientist, successfully launching new products and enhancing customer segmentation strategies that resulted in increased engagement and reduced churn rates. Prior roles include a Product Analyst position at TransferWise, where James played a key role in launching the company's international debit card, as well as various internships at NBCUniversal, Silicon Valley Optics Technology, Twentieth Century Fox, and GKN Aerospace, encompassing data analysis and procurement systems. James holds a Master's degree in Information and Data Science from the University of California, Berkeley, a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from UCLA, and a Bachelor's degree in Business Information Management from UC Irvine.
