Anthony Finlay

Anthony Finlay has a strong background in data engineering and development, with experience in leading cross-company projects and teams. Anthony has worked as a Lead Data Engineer at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, where they were responsible for the development and management of large-scale projects involving the replacement of HR & Payroll systems and the Finance system. Anthony has expertise in the SQL Server Stack, particularly SSIS and T-SQL. Prior to this, they held the role of Data Engineering Lead at Oakbrook Finance. Anthony also worked at learndirect as a Team Leader and Senior Developer, where they played a key role in the Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence initiative using the SQL Server BI/Reporting toolset. In their early career, they worked at Tribal Group as a Development Team Leader and Development DBA, where they led teams and transformed the product's database infrastructure. Anthony started their career at FD Learning, where they gained experience as a Senior/Lead Developer and Developer/Team Leader, focusing on database performance and delivery of a Library Management System.

Anthony Finlay earned a BSc in Mathematics from The University of Sheffield from 1988 to 1991. Anthony then pursued an MSc in Expert Systems Engineering (Computer Science) from The University of Sheffield from 1991 to 1993.
